This year, Pharrell Williams has collaborated with (deep breath) Daft Punk, Jay Z, Robin Thicke, Earl Sweatshirt, Pusha T, Azealia Banks, Mayer Hawthorne, and Hans Zimmer (he’s also attached to the new Frank Ocean project). His latest venture, however, might be his most ambitious yet.
As MissInfo points out, Under Armour has teamed Pharrell with former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis to create an instrumental mixtape entitled Natural Born Hitters, inspired by a short film, produced by Lewis, called Ready for August. Each track soundtracks a different stage of Lewis’ football experience: training, practice, pre-game, and gametime.
Stems from the tracks have been made available for a remix contest. The winning entry will be used to soundtrack a future Under Armour commercial.
