The Toronto Raptors haven’t really been relevant since the days of Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady — and those days were 15 years ago. In an effort to rebrand themselves, the Raptors are taking a page from another NBA franchise and have aligned themselves with hometown favorite Drake.
As USA Today reports, Drake has been hired as the Raptors’ Global Ambassador, and will help redesign the team’s image and logo in addition to launching a clothing line in collaboration with the team. Furthermore, the Raptors have been selected to host the 2016 NBA All-Star Game and it’s reasonable to assume Drake will have some involvement in those festivities.
