Conor Oberst and Dawes announce split 7-inch for Record Store Day

As noted, roots rockers Dawes will accompany Conor Oberst on tour this summer as the Bright Eyes frontman supports his new solo record, Upside Down Mountain. Before then, however, they’ll join forces for a limited edition seven-inch for Record Store Day (Saturday, April 19th).

The split features Dawes covering the Bright Eyes song “Easy/Lucky/Free” and Oberst covering Dawes’ “Million Dollar Bill”. For more info on the release, including availability, check out the Record Store Day website.

Below, revisit the original version of both tracks:

In addition to their own opening set, Dawes will serve as Oberst’s backing band for the entire tour, which runs from May through early June. Consult the full schedule below.
