Detroit-based rockers Protomartyr blend the moody atmospherics of ‘70s U.K. post-punk with the raw sensibility of their Motor City garage-rock forebears. On “Come & See”, the latest taste of their forthcoming LP, Under Color of Official Right, singer Joe Casey channels his inner Ian Curtis, bellowing a melancholic baritone over explosive, jangly guitars, and dismal, yet hooky songwriting.
