Back in December, Rustie revealed “Terra Star”, a brand new single released as part of LuckyMe Records advent calendar of new music. The Scottish producer returns this week with another bit of new material, this time a rework of Machinedrum’s latest song, “Back Seat Ho”.
While the original was a moody, shift-shaping thumper à la Machinedrum’s most recent album, Vapor City, much of its energy often felt too densely locked up in tight bunches of sound. Rustie’s remix helps to unpack those thick, tangled pieces, and in turn, provides the track with more breathing room for truly explosive, reverberating moments. Both “Back Seat Ho” and its remix will appear on Machinedrum’s new EP, Fenris District, due out March 24th via Ninja Tune.
