The Faint announce new album, Doom Abuse, stream “Help in the Head”

Omaha New Wave outfit The Faint will release their first album in six years, Doom Abuse, on April 8th via SQE Music. Serving as the follow-up to 2008’s Fasciinatiion, the 12-track effort recorded in the band’s hometown studio/rehearsal space and mixed by local boy Mike Mogis (Monsters of Folk, Conor Oberst).

Our first taste of the album comes via the opening track “Help in the Head”, a feedback-laden dance-punk anthem that’s as utterly infectious as it is frightening and abrasive. Watch its equally jarring music video below, directed by Tim Nackashi, which vividly portrays the unforeseen downside of laser pointers.

    Doom Abuse Tracklist:
    01. Help in the Head
    02. Mental Radio
    03. Evil Voices
    04. Salt My Doom
    05. Animal Needs
    06. Loss of Head
    07. Dress Code
    08. Scapegoat
    09. Your Stranger
    10. Lesson from the Darkness
    11. Unseen Hand
    12. Damage Control
