The Pains of Being Pure at Heart announce new album Days of Abandon

Just yesterday, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart teased the release of their third LP, Days of Abandon, amidst the announcement of a North American tour. Now, they’ve revealed more details, including the album’s artwork, tracklist, and release date: it arrives April 22nd via Yebo.

Spanning 10 tracks, the album was produced by Andy Savours (My Bloody Valentine, Sigur Rós, The Kills). The artwork, meanwhile, was created by South Korean artist Lee Jinju.

In an issued statement, singer Kip Berman discussed his desire to move away from the sound and style of 2011’s Belong. “I didn’t want to make Belonger,” he explained. “This album was a chance to step back from that universal style of songwriting to something that was far more personal, more in keeping with my original ideals. I wanted the music to be joyful and full of light, even if the subjects were often dark.”
