Watch: St. Vincent on The Colbert Report

Annie Clark performs "Digital Witness" and "Birth in Reverse", sits down for a chat

St. Vincent appeared on The Colbert Report last night for a little chat and two-song performance. Under her grey Munsters do, Annie Clark kept up with the witty late night host, who called her Vinny, as they discussed her new Top Rated self-titled album and a few of her more recent accolades.

“I was in a room full of Nobel Prize winners,” Clark confessed during one story, to which Colbert replied, “Is that why you have Einstein’s hair now?” Zing. The interview itself lasted maybe minutes, but they soaked up each one.

Later, when Clark described the album as “Techno Shamanism,” a confused Colbert simply shook his head, shrugged, and muttered, “I feel dumb.” No worries, he definitely got it after the commercial break when she glided through “Digital Witness”. But I think everyone did by then.
