Joy Division’s first-ever release, their 1978 EP An Ideal For Living, is receiving a long overdue reissue for Record Store Day (April 19th) via Rhino.
The reissue, billed as a “re-imagined” version of the EP, was remastered by the band’s “long-standing engineer and vinyl specialist” Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road Studios in January. The original artwork, which featured a controversial image of a Hitler Youth member, has been replaced with the scaffolding artwork found on the EP’s subsequent 12-inch release.
According to the band’s Facebook page, the reissue is “limited edition but not numbered.”
An Ideal for Living Tracklist:
01. “Warsaw”
02. “No Love Lost”
03. “Leaders of Men”
04. “Failures”
