Canadian punks PUP are releasing their self-titled debut album in the U.S. on April 8th via SideOneDummy Records. Formerly called Topanga (yes, based off Danielle Fishel’s Boy Meets World character), the four-piece combines pure raucousness and erratic hardcore energy with infectious pop hooks.
“Dark Days”, the latest single off the forthcoming LP, is no exception as it showcases the band’s choruses at their most bombastic, guitars cranked up in both volume and distortion. When lead singer Stefan Babcock sings, “This winter hasn’t been so rough / It was cold but still it wasn’t cold enough”, it’s obvious the song was written way before this year’s awful, no good polar vortexes.
