Stream: Liars’ new album Mess

Brooklyn art-rock trio Liars will release their new album, Mess, on March 24th via Mute Records. In anticipation, it’s streaming in full at NPR.org.

The 11-track effort sees the band move away from the “very labored and very cerebral” tone of 2012’s excellent WIXIW, playing with more uptempo dance music elements.

Frontman Angus Andrew explained in a press release, “We are a reactionary, or maybe a better word is schizophrenic band. We go from one extreme to the other. Working on the last record was really doubtful and paranoid, and that’s fine, but it just meant that when work started on this one, it was the exact opposite. It was way more instinctual, fun and confident.”
