Watch: Iggy Pop and New Order perform Joy Division songs

If The Stooges decide to go with Ariel Pink as their full-time singer, it looks like Iggy Pop has a fall-back option: last night, the legendary punk singer teamed up with New Order at the 24th annual Tibet House Benefit Concert in New York City. Together, they performed a pair of songs by Joy Division, “Transmission” and “Love Will Tear Us Apart”, along with New Order rarity “Californian Grass” (which apparently marked the first-ever performance of the song). Watch footage below (via Slicing Up Eyeballs).

The concert also featured performances by Sufjan Stevens, members of The National, Patti Smith, Philip Glass, and more. Click here to read our full report and to see more photos.
