Arcade Fire performed with “Pope” Beck Hansen at Coachella

    Arcade Fire’s weekend two Coachella performance will likely best be remembered for their fake Daft Punk cameo, but the set did, in fact, feature a real-life living legend. Beck, donning Aaron Paul’s Pope Bobblehead, joined the band on-stage to cover Prince’s “Controversy” (via Pasadena Star-News).

    Win Butler reportedly introduced Beck as “the Pope that you want, the Pope that you need.”

    In addition, Arcade Fire’s set included the tour debut of “Crown of Love” and a closing performance of “Wake Up”, which featured accompaniment from Preservation Hall Jazz Band. See the full setlist below.

    In related news, the band has announced three new West Coast tour dates, including a pair of dates in Los Angeles and a one-off in San Diego for early August. The up-to-date docket is also below.
