Kanye West has long proven himself to be hip-hop’s No. 1 multi-tasker, and it sure looks like he’s in for another busy year. Not only is Kanye working on a new studio album, the follow-up to last year’s Yeezus, but he has just announced the release of his first shoe with adidas.
As you may recall, Kanye had a long partnership with Nike, which culminated last year with the release of the Yeezy 2s. The shoe sold out almost instantly, with versions of the “Red October” fetching thousands of dollars on third party resellers. However, in the fall, Kanye left Nike due to creative differences, opting instead for a deal with adidas. The new should will reportedly be called the Yeezi.
Kanye appeared at the adidas conference in Germany this evening, where he announced a June release for his new Yeezi design. He also spoke extensively about his relationship with adidas, his interest in fashion design, and his creative process. Watch his full remarks below.
