Listen: Eels’ nostalgic new song “Where I’m From”

On April 22nd, Mark Oliver Everett, a.k.a. Eels, will release his new album, The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett. In anticipation, he’s let loose another LP cut entitled “Where I’m From”.

Much like his previous offerings, “Agatha Chang” and “Mistakes of My Youth”, this new one is yet another introspective, folk-tinged snapshot of what might be Everett’s most personal effort to date. “So long ago, I left it in the dust, well I was so young and dumb/Ran far away, I have to admit, sometimes I miss where I’m from,” he softly laments. Listen in below.

The standard LP will be accompanied by a bonus disc comprised of new cuts, unreleased material, and live session recordings from KCRW and WNYC. Consult both tracklists below.
