After a brief hiatus away from pummeling the Internet with an endless stream of new and unreleased music, Kieran Hebden, a.k.a. Four Tet, is back to his old ways. On Tuesday, he announced plans to release two 12-inches under his Percusions moniker, unveiling one of the four new tracks with the satiny smooth “Blatant Water Cannon”. Today, he’s upped his efforts by releasing two more tracks.
“Ascii Bot” blends dance-pop vocals with glitchy strings, resulting in an anthemic ballad brimming with equal parts pageantry and pure heart. Meanwhile, “Sext” melds rhythmic elements of drum and bass and bossa nova; like a sultry chiptune song, it’d be the perfect soundtrack if they ever developed Grand Theft Auto: Rio de Janeiro.
Listen to both tracks below:
“KHLHI” b/w “Sext” and “Ascii Bot” b/w “Blatant Water Cannon” could be available as early as April 28th via Hebden’s Text imprint.
