Listen: SZA’s new song “Sweet November”

CoSigned artist Solana Rowe, a.k.a. SZA, has unveiled the third track from her debut album, Z, due out April 8th via Top Dawg Entertainment. Following the sultry “Babylon” and the Chance the Rapper-aided “Childs Play”, “Sweet November” sees the R&B songbird playing with more of a retro, slightly experimental sound. With a slight sheen of psychedelic ambiance riding the collective waves of sweltering blues guitar and a sturdy bass groove, the track sounds as if it were either performed in a smoky nightclub circa 1963 or taken from some forgotten James Bond film starring Sean Connery. (Perhaps entitled Never Die Tomorrow or The Spy Who Cannot Die?)
