“President Obama” and “Pope Francis” made cameos at Arcade Fire’s show in Austin

If you’ve been following Arcade Fire of late, you’ll know their recent concerts have featured giant oversized bobblehead masks and digital projections of politicians and other notable figures. Last night, the band played a show in Austin, TX and were joined by a few notable guests.

As ArcadeFireTube points out, “President Barack Obama” and  “Texas Governor Rick Perry” appeared at the beginning of the show, while “Pope Francis” blessed the crowd during the band’s cover of Prince’s “Controversy”.

Coincidentally enough, the real President Obama was also in Austin yesterday. Guess he was too busy to catch the show? Or, maybe he is just planning to see them at Coachella?
