Spike Lee to direct Eminem’s video for “Headlights”

Eminem has enlisted director Spike Lee to helm his new video for “Headlights”, as Rap Up points out. The duo filmed the video in Eminem’s hometown of Detroit earlier this week.

“Great Day To Be In Motown On Marvin Gaye’s Born Day,” Lee wrote on Twitter, adding, “Detroit’s Finest EMINEM And Me Working Together On His Short a Film.Historic. Who Woulda Thunk It.” Eminem later confirmed the video was for “Headlights”, the latest single off his 2013 LP, The Marshal Mathers LP 2.

Lee hasn’t directed a video since Michael Jackson’s “This It It” in 2009, and before that it had been 13 years since he sat in the director’s chair for a music-related project. Still, Lee boasts quite the resume, having previously worked with Prince, Jackson, and, Public Enemy. Below, revisit the Lee-directed video for Public Enemy’s “Fight the Power”.
