Tim and Eric’s Pusswhip Banggang announces “Jambalaya” 12″, tour dates

Three dates in the Deep South for swamp rock lovers.

Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim’s Pusswhip Banggang has returned from the swamp. The tongue-in-cheek rock ‘n’ roll outfit, which originally debuted in 2006 on Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, toured back in 2010, nabbing thousands of fans with spicy Naw-Luns classics a la “Fudge Man”, “Kiss Me Once”, and “Don’t Call Me Uncle”. Now, they’re ready to hit the road again, and they’re celebrating with an exclusive 12″ picture-disc of their retro hit, “Jambalaya”.

As a press release indicates, “Jambalaya” is “not only a song, but also a recipe for one of the great Naw-Luns dishes.” Yes, the ultra-deluxe picture-disc actually packs a recipe for prospective chefs everywhere. And if you’re familiar with Heidecker’s resume, you’ll know this is but one of many culinary secrets he’s willing to share.

Be forewarned, though. The same release insists that “fans will have to pay dearly to be one of the few that own one of the few of these marvelous items.” Pre-orders begin on May 20th via Drag City, and diehards should book this link to purchase.

It’ll be equally hard to catch them live, too. So far, they’ve only announced three dates, and not surprisingly, they’re all in the Deep South. Tickets go onsale tomorrow, which means you’ll have to lick those fingers super fast and get those credit cards ready. Still, this is a can’t miss show for real, true rock ‘n’ rollers. See what you’re in for below.
