In anticipation of Nirvana’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Thursday night, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic appeared on last night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. While they didn’t perform, they sit down for an interview, during which they recounted some of their fondest memories of the band. Topics included Nirvana’s early years, their experience performing on Saturday Night Live, and Kurt Cobain wrecking havoc on Grohl’s drums. Replay the full interview below.
Grohl and Novoselic have yet to announce whether they’ll hit the stage together during tomorrow’s induction ceremony, but all signs point to a performance featuring Joan Jett.
Grohl and Novoselic’s appearance only adds to a truly epic week of shows for The Tonight Show. On Monday night, Nas teamed with Q-Tip and The Roots to perform Illmatic classics “One Love” and “The World Is Yours” (watch the replay here), and on Tuesday night, Cat Stevens dazzled with a trio of classic cuts (watch the replay here). Last night also featured an appearance from Stevie Nicks, who spoofed her “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” video and performed “Edge of Seventeen” (watch the replay here). And on Friday, Kiss will perform.
