Listen to “Old English”, a new song from ASAP Ferg, Young Thug, and Freddie Gibbs

Back in May, Nas announced the launch of his own record label, dubbed Mass Appeal. The label’s first official release will come later this summer with a “compilation of brand friends,” including Pusha T, Pimp C, Juicy J, YG, Bishop Nehru, Mac Miller, and members of the ASAP Mob, among others.

Today, the first track from the compilation emerges, as ASAP Ferg, Young Thug, and Freddie Gibbs team up for “Old English”. Though each of the three emcees are somewhat dichotomous, producers Salva and Nick Hook unite them under one beat of dense bass and jarring piano samples. From there, each gets their time to shine: Gibbs brings the terror, Ferg is a little more unpredictable, and Thug ends up providing the braggery. The end result finds balance between a mainstream banger and something left-of-center and a little more brooding.
