On August 19th, Nashville’s resident country-punk Cory Branan is releasing his latest album, The No-Hit Wonder, via Chicago’s Bloodshot Records. Already we’ve heard the title track, and today, Branan teams with singer/songwriter Jason Isbell for a new track entitled “You Make Me”.
As Branan tells Rolling Stone, he wrote the rootsy and rollicking jam about how “rad” his wife truly is. “The possibly cryptic third verse is about our wedding by the crossroads in Clarksdale, Mississippi, at a place called the Shack Up Inn,” he said. “I was stoked and lucky to have my buddy Jason Isbell lend his honeyed Alabama blend to a couple tunes. Plus, if you’re singing ‘Gon’ cakewalk on thru it to the jubilee’, it probably best be a fellow Southerner harmonizing.”

In addition to Isbell, The No-Hit Wonder features cameos from Caitlin Rose, Tim Easton, Austin Lucas, and more.
