Watch: Sufjan Stevens’ video for “Year of the Tiger”

Last week, Asthmatic Kitty reissued Sufjan Stevens’ 2001 album, Enjoy Your Rabbit, on vinyl for the very first time. Now, Stevens has shared a video for one of the LP’s tracks (yes, almost two decades later).

Directed and animated by Geoffrey Hoskinson, the technicolor clip for “Year of the Tiger” is highlighted by gloriously singing tigers and the fertilization of an egg. It’s bizarre and freakish to say the least, but it’s certainly better late than never. Watch it below.

As Pitchfork notes, if you pick up the double-LP bundle in stores, it also comes with fortune cookies whose messages are penned by Stevens himself. Check out one below.
