Sometimes when we center our Friday night plans around debauchery and mayhem, we often forget the debilitating hangovers that usually follow the next morning. (It’s never pretty, so it’s no mystery why try to erase these nights from our minds.) Oxford, Mississippi outfit Bass Drum of Death know the scenario all too well and have even penned a new song about it. Entitled “For Blood”, it’s a garage rock anthem that’s not afraid to pair up blaring, headbang-worthy riffs with quieter moments of drunken reflection.
“With ‘For Blood’ I wanted to play around with the ‘quiet-loud-quiet’ formula a bit, since most of our songs are just loud all the way through,” frontman John Barrett told Esquire. “Figured it’d be oddly fitting, since the song is about being really fucking hung over.”
