It would appear that Derek Zoolander is still listening to his cool dude of a friend, Billy Zane. Director Ben Stiller confirmed today that The Phantom and Titanic star will, indeed, be starring in his upcoming sequel, Zoolander 2.
Earlier this morning, Stiller posted an Instagram video in which he tells Hansel McDonald how cool it’d be if Zane returned to star. As you can see from the video below, that’s certainly not Owen Wilson under those blonde locks:

A follow-up to the 2001 comedy smash was officially announced last month at Maison Valentino’s runway show during Paris Fashion Week. Last year, Deadline reported that Penélope Cruz had signed on to join Stiller, Wilson, and the also returning Will Ferrell. Justin Theroux wrote the script, which sees the once-feuding Hansel and Derek attempt to re-enter the world of modeling.
“In the fashion world, if you go away for a year, it’s changed — it just happens so quickly,” Stiller told MTV in 2010. “I think the idea in the beginning of the movie is that it’s 10 years later, and Derek and Hansel are literally forgotten. Nobody remembers who they are, so they have to reinvent themselves.”
The film is currently set for a February 12th, 2016 release.
