On July 31st, 2015, the Griswolds will embark on their latest family vacation. Starring Ed Helms, Christina Applegate, Chris Hemsworth, Leslie Mann, and Charlie Day, as well as Chevy Chase reprising his role as Clark Griswold, Vacation marks the sixth installment of the National Lampoon’s Vacation film series, and the first full-length picture in 18 years. In anticipation, the film’s first “Red Band” trailer has arrived. Watch below.
In the film, Helms plays Clark’s son, Rusty. He decides to take his wife (Applegate) and kids on a cross country trip to the family’s favorite stomping grounds, Wally World. Along the way, Rusty meets up with his sister Audrey (Mann), her husband (Hemsworth), and their parents Clark and Ellen (Chase and Beverly D’Angelo).
Vacation was co-written and directed by John Francis Daley (Sam from Freaks and Geeks). Daley will also make a cameo in the film, as will his former Freaks and Geeks castmates Samm Levine (Neal) and Martin Starr (Bill), and Charlie Day (Always Sunny in Philadelphia).
