On the strength of its debut album, When It Was Now, Australia’s Atlas Genius has toured the world, opening for the likes of Silversun Pickups and Imagine Dragons, and taken the stage at a number of major festivals, such as Sasquatch! and Lollapalooza. Now, the band — led by brothers Keith and Michael Jeffery — are hoping to extend that success with LP No. 2, Inanimate Objects.

The album’s 11 tracks were co-produced by Atlas Genius and Frederik Thaae, recorded in both Adelaide, Australia and Studio City, California. Already the indie rockers have teased the release with choice cuts “Molecules”, “Stockholm”, and “Friends with Enemies”. Offering up another facet of the album’s appeal is “A Perfect End”, a song comprised of equal parts larger-than-life hooks and important life lessons.

“This song started as a jam we had with Big Data at our place in Los Angeles…” explained Keith. “I always have visions of a large, ornate, golden chandelier crashing to the ground when I think of this song. The end of one thing is always the beginning of something else, and there is always gold and diamond to be salvaged.”
