Shabazz Palaces have kept a low profile for much of the year, releasing just a one-off single called “Ham Sandwich” and a music video for “Forerunner Foray”. This week, the Seattle hip-hop outfit resurfaces with a new song in tow, its contribution to Adult Swim’s 2015 Singles program.
Not unlike the material on the group’s last LP, Lese Majesty, “The Mystery of Lonnie The Døn” sounds like a thunderstorm that’s slowly taking shape. Sinewy, throbbing production mixed with foreboding vocals indicate that something ghastly is on its way. Listen in below.
Other 2015 Adult Swim Singles include tracks from Danny Brown and Clams Casino, Peaches, Swervedriver, Yung Lean, and Owen Pallett.
