MoogFest announces 2016 lineup

Featuring Explosions in the Sky, Oneohtrix Point Never, Gary Numan, GZA, Blood Orange, and more


    Moogfest has announced the lineup for its 2016 edition. After being held for four years in Asheville, North Carolina, the four-day event will take place in Durham, NC from May 19th to 22nd.

    Headliners Explosions in the Sky, Oneohtrix Point Never, Laurie Anderson, Blood Orange, and GZA performing two shows. Gary Numan will also take the stage for multiple shows, separately playing Replicas, The Pleasure Principle, and Telekon in their entirety over the course of three nights.

    Also performing will be Sunn O))), Suzanne Ciani, Reggie Watts, Sun Ra Arkestra, Julia Holter, Grouper, Julianna Barwick, The Orb, The Haxan Cloak, Floating Points, Empress Of, Hundred Waters, Tim Hecker, Actress, Son Lux, Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh, Ryan Hemsworth, Simian Mobile Disco, YACHT, Tyondai Braxton, Bootsy Collins, Daniel Lanois, Dawn of Kidi, Kode9, Lotic, Quintron and Miss Pussycat, Mac McCaughan, Ben Frost, and scores more.


    Many of the aforementioned artists will also be giving talks during the festival, including Anderson, Mothersbaugh, The Haxan Cloak, Bootsy Collins, and Mike Dean, among others. Other speakers include Dr. Martine Rothblatt, Jaron Lanier, Chuck Lightning, Ben Russell, Anna Friz, Kaitlin Prest, and DJ Lance Rock & Yo Gabba Gabba!
