On Record Store Day (April 16th), METZ and John Reis of Drive Like Jehu/Rocket From the Crypt will release a pair of collaborative songs, “Let It Rust” and “Caught Up”. Both came to fruition when METZ were on tour passing through San Diego, where Reis resides.
“Reis immediately booked some studio time in the hopes of capturing this union’s glorious noise,” reads a press release. “The four of them came up with these two songs and now they are friends for life. The sound is reminiscent of an army of seagulls attacking a blind sushi chef inside a burning Benihana of Tokyo.”
Ahead of RSD, the two noise/hardcore acts have let loose “Caught Up”. While I personally can’t say I’ve heard an army of seagulls attack a blind sushi chef, I imagine it would sound like this wiry, thrashing juggernaut.
