Justin Timberlake has shared the video for “Can’t Stop the Feeling”. Given that the song, written for the new animated film Trolls, is Timberlake’s attempt to achieve what Pharrell Williams did with “Happy”, it’s not surprising to see a video that is also heavily influenced by Skateboard P. Specifically, “Can’t Stop the Feeling” features a whole lot of random people dancing to the infectious pop hit. Can’t wait for the 24-hour version.
Mark Romanek served as the video’s director. He previously directed videos for Fiona Apple (“Criminal”), Nine Inch Nails (“Closer”), and Taylor Swift (“Shake It Off”) in addition to films like One Hour Photo and Never Let Me Go.
The release of the video coincides with news that “Can’t Stop the Feeling” achieved No. 1 status in its first week of release. Not only does it mark Timberlake’s fifth No. 1 solo single, but it’s his best sales week for a song to date, according to Billboard.
