Bono, who owns a home in the nearby town of Eze, was eating at La Petite Maison last Thursday night. The restaurant is located next to the Promenade des Anglais, where a man drove a large truck into a gathered crowd, killing 80 people and injuring 200 more.
At the time, Bono was with Nice’s former mayor, Christian Estrosi. “It took around half an hour for the police to get us out,” a diner at the restaurant relayed to the Mirror. “Like everybody else, Bono had to put his hands on his head, and was told to remain calm.” He was escorted by police to the nearby Massena square.
Bono was also in Paris during last November’s terror attacks that left 130 people dead.
