Pearl Jam made their debut at Telluride, Colorado’s The Ride Festival this past Saturday, and it was nothing short of a historic set. Not only did the alt rockers perform “Angel” for the first time since 1994 (!), but they also played frontman Eddie Vedder’s Into the Wild track “Society” as a full band for the first time ever.
Now, more awesome footage of the group’s set has surfaced, further proving Telluride’s audience got one heck of a memorable show. During their performance of Vs. song “Daughter”, Vedder invited the winners of the local Pearl Jam karaoke contest to join him onstage for the chorus. The ladies happily obliged and flaunted their PJ-tuned pipes alongside the frontman.
As JamBase points out, after the women exited the stage, Vedder incorporated lyrics of “W.M.A”. into the end of “Daughter” as something of a reference to the recent spate of officer-involved shootings. “Police stopped my brother again,” sang Vedder, an often outspoken musician when it comes to political and social issues.
