Parquet Courts perform on Colbert with special guest Bun B — watch

The UGK rapper turned up for a surprise cameo on "Captive of the Sun"

Parquet Courts’ latest album, Human Performance, found the rock revivalists at their “most realized, independent, and articulate,” according to our own Associate Editor Nina Corcoran. In addition to impressing longtime fans, the stellar record has earned the Brooklyn natives new listeners, including left-field ones in Smash Mouth and apparently … Bun B.

You heard that right. The legendary UGK rapper’s such an avid supporter that he joined Parquet Courts during their performance on Colbert last night, lending a bar and some additional brawn to “Captive of the Sun”. The garage rockers were also accompanied by members of PC Worship, Blues Control, and Eaters. Replay the performance above.
