Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder was the brains behind the soundtrack for Sean Penn’s 2007 biographical drama, Into The Wild. The 11-track collection also happened to mark Vedder’s first-ever solo album. Though Vedder has played the music in live setting by himself countless times (and once with Johnny Depp) since the soundtrack’s release, the music rarely has made its way to PJ shows. Now, some nine years later, one of the songs off that soundtrack, “Society”, has finally received its live, full-band debut.
Kindly fulfilling a local fan’s request, Pearl Jam performed the folky, Jerry Hannan-penned number this past Saturday at Telluride, Colorado’s The Ride Festival. Check out fan-caught footage up above.
