Rob Crow’s Goblin Cock returns with new track “Something Haunted” — listen

The first single from the stoner metal outfit's new album, Necronomindonkeykongimicon

In under 365 days, Rob Crow went from quitting music to releasing his debut album as Rob Crow’s Gloomy Place. Now, he’s continuing his comeback by digging up his long gestating Goblin Cock project. The sludge metal outfit’s last album was 2008’s Come With Me If You Want To Live!but they’ll return later this fall with their third full-length, the divinely named Necronomindonkeykongimicon.

Described as “a crushingly brutal Dear John letter to society,” the protest album is due out September second via Joyful Noise. As a first listen, Crow has shared new single “Something Haunted”. The track rumbles in on the stoned growl of guitars, but that’s just the ignition sequence for a spaced out drone of noise. As the heavy atmosphere of the verse breaks way into the chorus, there’s a surprising amount of melodic lift added from Crow’s own vocals. Take a listen below.
