ScHoolboy Q shares gritty new video for “JoHn Muir” — watch

Another thought-provoking clip from the TDE rapper

On Blank Face LP standout “JoHn Muir”, ScHoolboy Q recounts his days spent “bellin’ through the mothafuckin’ streets, y’all.” With its corresponding music video this week, the Top Dawg rapper shows us what that actually looks like.

Filmed by a camera attached to the side of a car, the APLUSFILMZ-directed clip follows two friends as they ride around through their sketchy neighborhood into the wee hours of the night. Offering a glimpse at their lives, the visual shows them getting into quite a bit of trouble (shootings, hold-ups, witnessing police brutality). It also conveys the bleakness and senseless violence of such an environment and how difficult it is to break free from its grasp.

    Check it out above.

Previously, Q released a trilogy of short films with “By Any Means”, “Black THougHts”, and “Tookie Knows II”.
