Sia recently contributed a cover and an original track to Finding Dory and The Neon Demon, respectively. Now, she’s back at it again and will sing not one but two new original songs for the soundtrack to My Little Pony: The Movie.
What’s more, the singer will also lend her voice to the character of Songbird Serenade, a pony with equal pop power, joining a voice cast that includes Liev Schreiber, Taye Diggs, Emily Blunt, Kristin Chenoweth, Uzo Aduba, and Michael Peña.
The film follows the “Mane 6” ponies — Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity — as they gallop off on an adventure filled with friendship and magic. Meghan McCarthy, writer and producer of the animated series, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, wrote the screenplay, which Jayson Thiessen will direct.
The film is due out on October 6th via Lionsgate and will be distributed in all territories, save for China (naturally) — probably because this pack of ponies is far too cultish for viewing.
