Stream: Aphex Twin’s new EP, Cheetah

A 4th of July preview before the effort's release later this week

Fans attending the 2016 Summer NAMM Show last weekend were treated to an advanced preview of the new EP from Aphex TwinCheetah. Now, ahead of the effort’s July 8th release date via Warp Records, everyone else can listen to the extended-play via BBC Radio 6 Music. Happy 4th of July!

The station dedicated an entire two-hour show to Aphex Twin’s music, including the premiere of his latest seven-track effort. You can take a listen to Cheetah via the BBC Radio 6 website, with the EP beginning around the 01:00:10 mark.

The EP takes its name from the synthesizers Richard D. James used to create the music therein: the notoriously unwieldy Cheetah MS800, along with the Cheetah Sweet Talker speech synthesizer. The tracks “2X202-ST5″ and “CHEETAHT7b” premiered prior to the BBC Radio 6 stream, as did “CIRKLON3 [ Колхозная mix ]” via Aphex Twin’s first music video in 17 years. Watch that beneath the complete Cheetah tracklist below.
