As we excitedly noted last month, mashup maestros The Hood Internet and hip-hop pizza king ShowYouSuck have linked up to form a new group called Air Credits. They’re scheduled to make their live debut tomorrow night at Red Bull Sound Select and Consequence of Sound’s summer showcase at the Double Door. In anticipation of the big night, Air Credits have today let loose their very first single together, “All I Need (Part I)” b/w “All I Need (Part II)”.
“All I Need (Part II)” is a soulful, celebratory jam that could easily be mistaken for a Jackson 5 cut (let’s get the CoSigned MC to flow over more Motown records, please?). Meanwhile, “Part I” is a different creature entirely, fashioned from a more modern tapestry of woozy, warped synths. It features additional production courtesy of Kyle Woods, a Los Angeles-based DJ known for his work with Solange Knowles’ Saint Heron label, and Professor Fox, whose collaborators include Chance the Rapper, Mac Miller, and Vic Mensa.
