Ty Segall reimagines “Californian Hills” as the seven layers of hell in new video — watch

Where Sloppo the clown and a satanic baby go head-to-head

Every piece of promotion behind Ty Segall’s Emotional Mugger album feels as though it was conjured by Satan himself. The prolific garage rocker appeared on a local Chicago news show as devilish baby, as well as impersonated a creepy clown to scare the wits out of late-night host Stephen Colbert.

This week, things have come to a head as Segall’s new music video for “Californian Hills” features both those nightmarish characters. Directed by Meghan Tryon and Garrett Davis, the trippy animated clip imagines the Golden State’s curvy topography as the seven layers of hell. Here, a clown named Sloppo is desperately trying to escape the grasps of an evil half baby, who commands a stable of bizarro creatures to hunt him down.

    Watch above if you dare.
