It’s about time we received a proper trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Don’t get me wrong, that teaser trailer back in April was fantastic — enough to make us believe the first anthology film could be better than last year’s The Force Awakens — but it was still just a teaser. Now, our expectations are off the chart as we have our first concrete grasp of the film. Needless to say, December can’t come soon enough.
Set between Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope, Rogue One stars Felicity Jones as a rebel fighter who is part of an operation to steal plans for the Death Star. Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Neil Breen, and Alan Tudyk round out the diverse cast.
The film’s been awash in mild controversy this summer following reports of extensive reshoots, especially those suggesting that director and screenwriter Tony Gilroy had to climb aboard to take over for director Gareth Edwards. Whatever the case, all at least looks well in the galaxy far, far away. Take a gander for yourself above.
