One of Hollywood’s premier power couples is calling it quits.
According to CNN, Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from her partner of 12 years, Brad Pitt, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Jolie’s attorney Robert Offer told the Associated Press that the decision was made “for the health of the family.”
The two actors began dating while on the set of their 2004 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith. At the time, Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston, who he subsequently divorced in early 2005. Jolie and Pitt went public with their relationship in 2006. Together, they raised six children — three through adoption, and three fathered by Brad. The couple formally married in 2014.
Last year, Jolie and Pitt teamed up for their second feature film together, By the Sea, which Jolie herself directed.
