Beats Antique get loose with Preservation Hall Jazz Band on new single “Let It All Go” — listen

There’s no band quite like the wildly eclectic Bay Area trio Beats Antique, and that has now held true for an entire decade. The group is getting ready to celebrate their 10th bandiversary in grand fashion: Their 10th studio album, Shadowbox, is out this fall, which they’ll support with a theatrical tour featuring Indonesian shadow puppetry, custom lanterns, dance, and storytelling.

Oh, and the music’s pretty fun, too. Today, Beats Antique share their latest single “Let It All Go”, and it lives up to its name as a wild, unrestrained statement of the band’s continued vitality. “‘Let It All Go’ is about exactly what it sounds like — letting it all go,” the band explains. “This song is about letting it loose and embodying the spirit of New Orleans in whatever you’re doing. I think we all need to shake it off and escape the madness for a second.”

It helps of course, if you’ve got good friends to help you stay sane. Beats Antique enlisted their “dear friends” Preservation Hall Jazz Band to lend some brassy flavor to the track, and the result is everything we could have hoped it would be. Listen in below.

Shadowbox is set for release on October 5th (pre-order here), and Beats Antique kick off their ambitious Shadowbox tour later this month. Check out the album artwork and the band’s full tour itinerary below.
