It would have been damn near impossible for most bands to follow up Wednesday’s music-filled episode of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which featured a rollicking performance by Wilco along with Chic legend Nile Rodgers. But The Kills proved more than up to the task last night, storming onto Colbert with a near-lethal dose of swagger. The duo of singer Alison Mosshart and guitarist Jamie Hince performed “Impossible Tracks”, the latest single off their new album Ash & Ice.
Mosshart and Hince should feel pretty comfortable on the late-night stage by this point, as last night’s appearance followed up performances on The Tonight Show in May, Conan in June, and the Late Late Show with James Corden earlier this month. By this point, they’re basically masters of the craft.
