Forgive us for being just a little excited about the forthcoming Power Rangers movie, what with Bryan Cranston appearing as Zordon and promising a “grittier” reimagining of the children’s television series. We got our first taste preview today when the trailer for Power Rangers debuted at New York Comic Con, and it seems as if Cranston’s assessment is a least partially right.
Starring Dacre Montgomery, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott, Becky G, and Ludi Lin, the Red, Blue, Pink, Yellow, and Black Rangers are back to protect Earth from the evil Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks). We’re not quite ready to call this reboot a home run, but the early returns have us intrigued.
