Thanksgiving is just a day away, which means shopping centers and your radio are probably already being flooded with holiday music. Best Coast are contributing to the sounds of seasonal cheer with their new track, “Christmas and Everyday”.
The beach-y vibes and empowering lyrics the band brings on the Christmas jingle are perfectly fitting given from where the song comes. “Christmas and Everyday” was written for the Amazon live-action kids special An American Girl Story—Maryellen 1955: Extraordinary Christmas, which takes place in Daytona Beach and focuses on a little girl discovering what makes her special. “Just remember that everyone’s got feelings,” Bethany Cosentino sings as if speaking directly to movie’s title character. “All you gotta do is keep on believing/ A big smile, it can be so healing.”
