Florence Henderson, the actress who played Carol Brady in The Brady Bunch, has died. She was 82 years old.
The Associated Press reported news of Henderson’s death on Thursday night, adding that she was surrounded by her family and friends. The cause of death was not revealed as of publication.
Henderson played Carol Brady, the family matriarch, for the entirety of The Brady Bunch’s five season run between 1969 and 1974. She reprised the role for several made-for-TV movies aired in the 1970s and 1980s. In 2014, Entertainment Weekly ranked Carol Brady as No. 54 on its list of the 100 greatest TV icons.
Outside of The Brady Bunch, Henderson frequently performed “God Bless America” at the Indianapolis 500; co-hosted a daytime talk show for Retirement Living TV; appeared in “Weird Al” Yankovich’s video for “Amish Paradise”; starred in a Pepsi commercial alongside Ozzy Osbourne; and competed on the 11th season of Dancing With the Stars.
