The xx celebrate young love and Marfa, Texas in new “On Hold” video — watch

London outfit's third album, I See You, lands in January

The xx journeyed from London to Marfa, Texas to record a portion of their upcoming third album, I See You. It appears they enjoyed their stateside stay so much, they filmed a music video for lead single “On Hold” in the same Texas city.

Directed by fashion photogra[her Alasdair McLellan, it’s a sunny, feel-good clip that plays out like an ode not only to Marfa, but also to the joys of youth. Local high school students, cheerleaders and football players, and young couples in love pop up throughout the visual, as do all three members of The xx (Jamie xx and Oliver Sim in particular have a blast in an empty parking lot).

“We have a lot of love and respect for the people of the USA, having played hundreds of shows across the country over the past years,” The xx note in a press release. “We hope this video reflects just some of the warmth and acceptance we have encountered there.” Watch it above.
